10/25: Our Top 10 ListWith our busy scouting schedule kicking into high gear one week from Saturday and the meaty part of the ACC and SEC schedules ramping up, I thought I’d take a quick break and help get the fans geared up for Bowl Season. Your team’s post-season destination is probably just starting to take shape. But before you set your sights on what bowl destination you are hoping for, let me present to you the … Top 10 Reasons to Hope for a Chick-fil-A Bowl Selection this Year
10. Destination AtlantaIt’s tough to beat a trip to a city like Atlanta. We’ve got all the top-notch attractions (like the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola) and some of the best hotels, shopping and restaurants in the country, all with a side of southern hospitality. 9. Host Experience We’ve been hosting teams and fans for the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta since 1968. That gives us 45 years’ experience at creating a great week for you and your team. Our job is to make sure you and your team have a great time while you are here, and we deliver on that every year. 8. Chick-fil-A and Lots of Cows We’ve got the best title sponsor in the bowl business and there are 125 Chick-fil-A restaurants in Atlanta, so there will literally be Chick-fil-A food and the lovable cows everywhere you turn (great for photo opps.). 7. Dome, Sweet DomeWe’ve got one of the best NFL-caliber stadiums in the country with an unmatched atmosphere for college football, built up by a string of 15 straight sellouts. 6. National Spotlight on TVIf you miss out on tickets, you won’t miss the unopposed prime-time national television broadcast on ESPN. Chick-fil-A Bowls are 3 of the top 10 and 7 of the top 25 most viewed non-BCS bowl games in ESPN history. So settle in for some high definition football on the big screen. Just make sure you turn the volume all the way up so you can get the same experience. 5. Bowl Week is an Experience Be a part of one of the best Bowl Week experiences in the nation as you track your team through the daily Battle for Bowl Week team competitions, visits to the MLK Center and children’s hospitals, the Georgia Power Football Feud game show-style banquet and then our game day parade and FanFest presented by Coke Zero. 4. Great Match-ups, Great Rivalries Over the last 20 years, the ACC vs. SEC rivalry in the Chick-fil-A Bowl is tied at 10-10. With a reputation for close competitive games (55% of all Chick-fil-A Bowls have been decided by a touchdown or less), this is how you want to end your season. And hopefully, your team can put your conference back on top. 3. Perfect Game Time WeatherThere aren’t too many better weather destinations in December than Atlanta, and by the way, I can guarantee 72 degrees in the Dome with a zero percent chance of rain. Bring ear plugs, not an umbrella. 2. Payout and ScholarshipThe Chick-fil-A Bowl will distribute an all-time high total of $7.1 million in team payouts this year. And on top of that, college football’s most charitable bowl game will provide each team with an endowed scholarship for an additional $100,000. 1. Traditions A trip to the Chick-fil-A Bowl means some of the best bowl game traditions in the country. Make sure you catch our traditional fan favorites like the game day parade, pre-game Team Walks through FanFest, the 5,000 parachuting mini-cows at kickoff and a 72,000-person singing of Auld Lang Syne! It is New Year’s Eve after all.
